Nourish November: November 30- Moments and Memories Over Tasks

Tomorrow, we turn the page of the calendar to December. You may be feeling many different things such as: excitement, stress, hope, joy, and maybe confusion. You may be wondering what the holiday season will look like in the midst of Covid. I know it will look different, but I know we can still make magic and memories.

Keep this in mind as we enjoy the next month, memories and moments are more important than tasks and to-do lists. It can feel like we are never going to get everything done, especially around the holidays. But what if what we need to get done is actually just spending time with those we care about and enjoying the season.

I have always felt the time between Thanksgiving and the end of December, races by so quickly. It can be a wonderful, beautiful blur. I hope you can show yourself kindness during this time. It's okay to indulge sometimes. Don't beat yourself up if you have too many cookies, just try to have plenty of protein and water on those days. If you can squeeze in something active, a brisk walk outside to see the neighborhood lights, squats, a few planks, anything is better than nothing.

Give yourself the gift of prioritizing self-acceptance and kindness. Self-care can be reading a good book by the Christmas tree or enjoying a warm bath while the snow falls. This holiday season is going to be different, so why don't we make it different in a good way? Let go of your old expectations of perfectionism and focus on enjoyment.
