Nourish November: November 20- Drink enough water
If you don't know where to start with taking better care of yourself, drinking water is a great place to begin. Getting enough water is one of the very best things you can do for yourself. Water is essential for the body's processes. There are many benefits to drinking water, including weight loss, digestion aid, and an energy boost.
I don't follow the eight glasses a day rule. Instead, I think it's best to drink half of your body weight number in ounces each day, so if you weight 100 pounds you would drink 50 ozs or if you weight 120 pounds you would drink 60 ozs and so on. If you do a strenous workout or something else that makes you sweat a lot, it's good to drink water throughout the acitivity to replace the water you are losing. It's also good to drink extra water on those days.
Water is hugely important to our bodies, which are made up of 70% water. Dehydration can appear appear as hunger, a headache, fatigue or dry skin, to name a few symptoms. If you want to have beautiful, glowing and young-looking skin, make sure you are drinking enough water. Skin needs moisture from inside and out.
For good health, it's best to drink water throughout the day. I drink it with all of my meals and snacks, as well as throughout the day. When you feel thristy, it means you are already dehyrated. Make a plan to figure out how you are going to get enough water. Do you prefer to drink out of a bottle or a glass? You can use an app to track the amount of water you are drinking, so you know how much you are getting. I have measured the ounces in the glasses from our kitchen, so I know how many of them I need to drink each day.
The next time you don't feel quite right, have a headache or feel nauseaous, before you take medicine, try drinking a glass of water and see how you feel a little later. Help your body operate in the best way by making water a priority.
